Jessica Fuhr Nichol
homemaker, scholar-practitioner of integral ecologies
Jessica completed her Master of Arts in Philosophy and Religion with a concentration in Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness, Integral Ecology track at California Institute of Integral Studies (PCC CIIS) in December 2022.
The Spiritual Tasks of the Homemaker in the Gaianthropocene emerges from two landmark texts:
“When I began my coursework at PCC CIIS, I thought I was on a journey away from the home and into the educational community. Specifically, I intended to continue exploring the universe story as a new cultural mythology and a way forward in our times.
In the fall of 2021, my attention returned to the homemaker vocation as I considered the more profound indications of Schmidt-Brabant’s text alongside Kelly’s identification of Gaia, our Earth, as the embodiment of the concrete universal in his newly released book. By then, I had realized that my grounding as an integral ecologist had come from my foundation in holistic education. My experience as a holistic educator intricately weaves into my experience as a homemaker. PCC was the alchemical vessel that distilled me to my essence.”
As a homemaker and scholar-practitioner of integral ecologies, Jessica plans to continue her development by exploring the homemaker's spiritual tasks in the Gaianthropocene. Alongside this endeavor, she is expanding her knowledge and experience with Rhodesian ridgeback dogs.
